History

Comfort Engineers, Inc. begin over 50 years ago as an HVAC company serving the Durham area.  Five decades later, Comfort Engineers is a respected name in heating, air conditioning, ventilation and indoor air quality in the Triangle area and across North Carolina.  As the company grew from its humble beginnings we discovered that it would be beneficial to open a Duct Shop to produce our own duct work to enhance our HVAC installation.  We were fortunate enough to hire some very talented and knowledgable people in the metal fabrication and welding field.  Word of this talent got around and we eventually branched out to do specialized metal fabrication in our new Fab (fabrication) Shop .  In 1998, we were approached by a company to mass produce a portion of their product made of heavy gauge metal.  This, not being our major line of business, we were hesitant.  However, we talked to our fabrication employees and they excitedly said “We can do it!”, so we opened up our Contract Manufacturing facility.
